Today's Nutrition Notes:
First day of calorie tracking and training for the half-marathon in December of 2010.

01/11/2010 Exercise

Attempted the first week routine for Couch25K . Was unable to run beyond the first two 60 second run segments due to my weight, so I completed the workout by briskly walking for the rest of it. Covered about 1.5 miles. Walked from my house up past the main gate of Cienega High School and back. It looks like I am going to have to do some serious walking for the next month to drop some of this weight before I start running. My knees, hips, and back were about to give out.

Don't worry, I won't quit, just don't want to injure myself and defeat myself before I really get started. Here is my exercise for the day:

Commencing Half-Marathon Training

Today I will be commencing training in preparation for running a half-marathon in December of 2010. My current weight is 319.2 pounds. I will start out using the Couch To 5K approach. At least one of my sons will be training with me. My brother Doug will be training for it as well, as will his middle daughter I believe. I will be posting here as I complete my workouts.

I will also be counting my calories using the Spark People website, and will be posting my counts here.

Pray for me, as this is a monumental task. Of course, with God, all things are possible.

Monday, October 26,2009, Weigh In

318lbs. I had to stop WeightWatchers Online, as I couldn't afford the subscription fees anymore, and I wasn't using it much anyway. However, I am going to switch back to food logging and calorie counting, like I used to. We'll see how that goes. Pray for me.

Back To Work

Folks,

I have been very out of pocket lately. My youngest son and I went up to the Navajo reservation in Northeast Arizona on a mission trip to help them build a worship center. Needless to say, I was not able to control what was available to eat, or my exercise, but believe me, we were very busy.

I have recommenced point counting and working out with the sons today. Gotta get back into shape as we are going back in April or May. I will also post later on the trip we took, the eye opening experience my son and I had, and the humbling God placed on me through the Navajo people.
